NTSE exam 2021 Notification out


NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) 2021 is a National Level Examination conducted by NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) to provide the scholarship to the deserving candidates. This exam is for secondary school level to identify and recognize students with high intellect and skills. The examination is conducted every year at 2 levels: Stage 1 (State Level) and Stage 2 (National level). To avail the scholarship program, the applicants should qualify both stages of the exam. NTSE 2021: NCERT has started the application process for NTSE 2021. All states and UTs will release the NTSE application form 2021 in October 2020 in the online mode on the official website of SCERTs. Students are required to download the NTSE application forms online, take a printout, and fill them offline. The completely filled forms will need to be submitted along with the NTSE application fee (if any) in the offline mode in school. The links to download the state-wise NTSE application form 2021 will be provided here. The NTSE stage 1 is scheduled to be conducted on December 12, 2020, for Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Andaman & Nicobar islands and on December 13, 2020 for all other states/UTs. NTSE Stage 2 will be conducted on June 13, 2021.

NTSE 2020: All state and UTs have released the NTSE Result 2020 for stage 1 on their official websites. Candidates who have qualified the NTS stage 1 exam will have to appear for the NTSE 2020 stage 2, the new date for which is yet to be announced.

NCERT has postponed the conduct of NTS stage 2 examination 2020 which was earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 10. The exam is postponed in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The new date for NTSE Stage 2 is expected to be announced after assessing the situation.

NTSE 2021 Exam Pattern

NTSE Exam is conducted in two stages i.e. Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1 is a state level examination conducted by authorities of various states and union territories. Stage 2 is a national level examination conducted by NCERT for Stage 1 qualifiers and Indian nationals studying abroad as they are exempted from stage 1 exam. The pattern for both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 exam is same.

  • NTSE Exam is an offline test. Candidates have to mark their answers in OMR sheets.
  • The exam is divided into two papers. Paper 1 is Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Paper 2 is Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
  • The medium of Stage 1 exam is specified by respective state authorities while Stage 2 exam is offered in Asamiya, Bangla, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu language.
  • There is no negative marking applicable in NTSE 2021.
